]]> <![CDATA[Affiliates Tutorial]]> 1. Go to www.filmon.com and click  the affiliate icon on the left side menu. Click on  the “Create an account” button, complete the registration form, then click 'Register'.  Your request has been submitted this way.

2. Once your affiliate account has been activated,  go to www.filmon.com again, click the Account button (see the screenshot below) on the left side menu, select "Affiliate program" from the opened list.  "Affiliate dashboard" will appear on the new page this way.

3. On this page you will see your unique affiliate ID, site address/URL for desktop and mobile use.

4. To start customising your affiliate page, go to "Site settings" and select an image to upload for your logos and site background. Click the "Update"/"Upload New" button and upload your desired logo, repeat with the square logo and also upload your desired background image.

5. You can customise what channels appear on your affiliate website by going to "Channels" and hiding entire genres or individual channels. You can also import individual channels to an already existing website by clicking the "Embed" button alongside the desired channels – this will give you 3 ways to embed: http link, html code or iframe

6. Additionally you can change the Tittle, Description and Keywords by going to “Tittle and Meta Tags” if it's necessary.

7. You can also create an Android app in the "Apps" section. Click "Edit" button and complete the form on the new opened page.

7.1 To build and download your Android app please fill the required fields with General Options (Bundle Tittle, Application ID) Colors (Action bar color/gradient), Graphic assets (Bundle icon, Bundle logo, Application logo for Loading screen ).

7.2 When you finish with establishing “Graphic assets”, please click “Save and Build” button.
(see the “green” button on the screenshot below).
Once a file is created, you will be able to upload this to your Google Play account.

You can purchase HD package only for your private usage, but can't rebroadcast HD streams or use it in any different ways .

]]> <![CDATA[Can I change the email associated to my account?]]> There is no tool for affiliates to do this themselves, but it is possible for FilmOn Administrators to perform this function. We will require the affiliate to go through multiple steps to prove that they are the original owner of the affiliate program, but once confirmed we can update the email address on the affiliates behalf.

]]> <![CDATA[Can I create a channel on Roku or other Connected TV platform?]]> At this time there is no turnkey solution that we have in place to create a connected TV application for an affiliate. The best that we can offer is an API key to provide the metadata and streaming video files for our content. The affiliate will then need to build the channel themselves from scratch using the FilmOn API where necessary to display content.

]]> <![CDATA[Can I get information about subscribers that I have referred?]]> No, we are not legally allowed to share users private information with anyone on the Internet. Affiliates are not allowed to sign users up for FilmOn Premium Pay Channels, but even if the affiliate partner signs a user up to buy DVR Space - the most we can do is track that revenue and share it with you. No user information will be shared.

]]> <![CDATA[Can I publish my app on the Apple app store? ]]> You cannot create an iOS application with the FilmOn Affiliate Program. Sorry for any inconvenience, but the Android Application is all that we support at this time. If you want to create an iOS application you will need to build the application yourself but you can use our API to power content by becoming an API Affiliate.

]]> <![CDATA[Can I use channels logos from FilmOn on my Affiliate Service?]]> Yes, affiliates can display the channel logos as they are displayed in the Web Affiliate white label offering, but any custom display of these logos in marketing materials need to be approved directly by FilmOn. Please email affilitates@filmon.com with a link or an attachment to what you would like to get approved.

]]> <![CDATA[How are affiliate earnings calculated?]]> 1. Contracts with our advertisers are based on a CPM model (cost per thousand impressions) and the CPM varies depending on the territory and demand in that particular territory.

2. We will pay you 33% of the advertising revenue you generate via your app/website minus deductions from gross of 16.5% network charges and 0.45 pence per CPM ad serving costs.

3. You will be able to see reports on all impressions delivered and revenue due to you in your affiliate dashboard's Reports section. Reports become available between 15 and 30 days after the end of the previous month's activity.

4. If you have accumulated over 50GBP in revenue due to you, all you need to do is email us an invoice addressed to FilmOn.TV Ltd showing each month's total earnings as per your reports and we will pay you via Paypal or bank transfer within 30 days.

]]> <![CDATA[How do I become an API affiliate?]]> Send an email request to affiliates@filmon.com and explain how you plan to use the FilmOn API and what your plans for generating revenue are. We require all API Affiliates to integrate our ad SDKs to pull in video ads before playing FilmOn video assets. We require all API Affiliates to generate revenue to cover streaming costs, and we can provide affiliates with publisher tags for video ads if needed. Once validated by our support team, an API Key and Secret Key will be provided. It will require advanced technical skills to be an API Affiliate, if you are technically capable of doing this you can be an affiliate.

Step 1: Sign up to be an affiliate go to <http://www.filmon.com/affiliate/register> once you sign up wait for approval via email.

Whatever Channels are selected will be displayed on any affiliate service that is launched using this AFFID. We do not currently make our premium SVOD channels available to affiliates, but otherwise all major content on FilmOn is available to affiliates.

]]> <![CDATA[How do I make money with the FilmOn Affiliate Program?]]> FilmOn’s Ad Operations (AdOps) Team monetizes the video content for the affiliate. If a traffic affiliate, and therefore referring users to the FilmOn website to watch video content, then the AdOps Team monetizes the video on FilmOn.com. If a Web Affiliate or Android App Affiliate, and playing the video content within your own website or android application, the AdOps Team traffics ads to generate revenue on the affiliate website or application. The affiliate generates 33% of revenue in all scenarios.

2. Add the your full domain and CNAME www.filmon.com. (the period at the end is important)


3. Then email <affiliates@filmon.com> with the subject line “CNAME Domain” and in the body of the email simply write what the CNAME Domain is.

Can I use the same Affid?]]> You are permitted to use the same AFFID for multiple websites, but they will all display the same selection of channels that were inputted in the Channel Selections tab. This is not an ideal setup, so we encourage you to create a unique Affiliate Account for any new websites that you plan to launch. For now, each new Affiliate Account will require a new and unique email address. Sorry for any inconvenience.

]]> <![CDATA[My Affiliate Service has thousands of users, why is my revenue so...]]> There are many factors that can affect revenue for ad-supported services, but the primary two are CPM and Fill Rate. The first thing to look for is where your users are located, because the highest CPMs are generated in the US, Canada and Europe. If the majority of your users are located outside of those countries, then your revenue will likely be lower due to a minimal CPM and poor fill rate. CPM is the cost per thousand users that see a video ad (typically in the £3 - £6 range) and fill rate is the percentage of the time that an ad displays. We always strive for 100% fill but realistically it settles in the 60% to 80% range for high demand territories.

Can I still register? ]]> You are welcome to register as a Traffic Affiliate, but until you have a website we do not recommend submitting to become a Web Affiliate. If you want to create an Android Application, then we have the tools necessary for you to build the apk file.

]]> <![CDATA[What types of FilmOn affiliates are there?]]> There are four FilmOn affiliates:

1. Traffic Affiliate - Referring users to FilmOn

2. Web Affiliate - Manually embedding the FilmOn video player, or inserting a white label of FilmOn into a tab on your website or taking over the entire website. This is a Self Service solution.

3. Android App Affiliate - Building a fully packaged APK with channels and advertisements included. This is a Self Service solution.

4. API Affiliate - Using the API gives ultimate flexibility but is very technical. Using the API allows affiliates to surface any FilmOn content, but the affiliate is required to integrate advertisements in order to be compliant and maintain access to the API and video streams.

]]> <![CDATA[When are revenue reports generated and when do I get paid?]]> Most ad networks that FilmOn works with have finalized and billable numbers starting on the 15th of the following month. Starting then, the FilmOn AdOps Team logs into every advertiser dashboard and pulls their final numbers. All numbers will be in a revenue report and uploaded for display on the reports tab of your Affiliate Dashboard no later than the end of the following month. We will strive to have them available sooner, but sometimes 3rd party advertisers lag and it only takes one to delay the entire report.

Once you have accumulated at least £50 in generated revenue, you need to send an invoice with your AFFID to affiliates@filmon.com.

]]> <![CDATA[Which advertisement can I bring to my affiliated website/app? ]]> You won't be  able to bring advertisement of your own. You can only have FilmOn's adverts on your affiliated app/website.

]]> <![CDATA[Why are there no ads being displayed on my Affiliate Service?]]> Any newly activated affiliate is automatically put into an ‘in review’ status which means ads have not be targeted yet. If an active affiliate is not seeing ads being displayed, then the next most likely reason is that the country they are visiting from is not in high demand for advertisers. If the active affiliate is from the US or Europe and there are still no ads, then please email affiliates@filmon.com and we will route your issue to our AdOps Team for further review

What are the guidelines?]]> Most affiliates are permitted to be a Traffic Affiliate and refer users to Filmon.com, but to be a Web Affiliate your website needs to confirm to some basic standards. The two primary reasons that a registration to be a Web Affiliate would be denied is if there is porn/adult content on the property or if there is pirated content on the service. If you feel that we made an error in evaluating your service, please email us at affiliates@filmon.com and explain how you plan to feature FilmOn content and why we should reconsider.
